Golden Panda North America Micro Film Festival cultural experience tourist group of 21 people to Chinese capital came to BFA for communication and screening of the 3rd prize-winning works 2015 on March 30th. Mr. Zhang Huijun, president of BFA was invited to act as the jury chairman of the 4th micro film festival 2016. Ms. Sandy You, executive member of Golden Panda North America Micro Film Festival organizing committee & vice president of East Star issued the letter of appointment to president Zhang Huijun at the medium screening hall. Mr. Christopher Lane, professor of Toronto Film School and judge of the 3rd Golden Panda North America Micro Film Festival, Mi Jing, assistant dean of International School, BFA, Zuo Yan and Luo Desai from Foreign Affairs Office and Xiang Wang, judge of the 3rd festival were present at the activity.

Eight 3rd prize-winning works were screened in BFA including People against Removal awarded the best humanist prize (directed by Dara Kell from South Korea), The Chunk and the Whore awarded the best screenplay prize (directed by Coline Dussaud from France), Children of Mount Tianshan awarded the most popular online micro film prize (directed by Wang Yimin from China), Seeker Wing awarded the best animation short film prize (directed by Iris Moore from Canada), Aden awarded the best director prize (directed by Gary Lee from US), Drunk Life awarded the best film prize (directed by Yao Qingtao from China) and Suancai (directed by Liang Shuang from China) and Mother’s Day (directed by Jeff Tan and written by Gabriel Furman from US) awarded committee special recommendation prize. Three of them are directed by Chinese directors. Suancai is the graduate joint work 2015 instructed by Prof. Huang Dan from Department of Screenwriting and Film Studies, BFA. In the link of communication after screening, teachers and students present made in-depth exchange and discussion about creation conception, shooting and post production in warm atmosphere. Finally, a student was drawn to take part in the Golden Panda North America Micro Film Festival Chinese Cultural Experience tour 2017. Cao Chongyu from Film-maker Class 2016, Experimental Center of Film and Television was the lucky dog. The lucky draw activity pushed the event to a climax.

The fourth Golden Panda North America Micro Film Festival will be conducted in Vancouver this October. BFA will submit short films of teachers or students to the festival to create more chances for screening of works in North America and other areas and let more audience share the works of our teachers and students.
