In order to create the practical opportunity of international cross-cultural learning and creativity to the master in art, according to the project of communication and cooperation signed with Korean Synthetic Arts University, under the leadership of Liu Yu of Management School , 5 teachers and students of “Narrative Short Film of 2016 BFA-KARTS and the Shooting Workshop” reached Seoul in Korea at 2. pm on May 23th, 2016 to have exchange learning for 19 days. 4 graduate students who have participated in the workshop were from the Department of Directing , School of Performing Arts, Photography School and Management School.
This event is a long-term project established by our university and Korea National University of Arts. Its aim is to strengthen the cooperation and exchange between the two universities, so as to provide the practical opportunity for cross-cultural learning and writing for both students. During a period of Korea, our students will visit and study Korea National University of Arts and a narrative short film.
In the afternoon on May 24th, under the leadership of Dean Wu of KARTS, our teachers and students visited the photo studio, performance theater, recording studio and equipment storage room of Korea National University of Arts, which can experience the training mode and teaching facilities of film professional talents in Korea.
From May 25th to June 2nd, Chinese and Korean students had the intense and rich preparatory work in earlier stage for shooting. From attending a conference of theater group to have a screen-test the actor to choice of scene and location search, we were full of vitality every day.
After 10 days of intense preparations, in accordance with the tradition of China and Korea, a worship ceremony was taken before starting up. I hope that the shooting can be successful and an excellent short film will be created!
