2017 CILECT CAPA Conference was held from November 30 to December 1 at Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. Dean of Graduate School of Beijing Film Academy, Professor Huang Yingxia, Vice President of the Executive Committee at CILECT and Ding Feng, Associate Professor at Management School attended the conference. At the conference, Ding Feng gave a speech of What can Film Producers Learn from Films of Ang Lee——A Case Study in the Perspective of Films in English. It is the first time that staff of BFA had his paper chosen at CAPA Conference, and that BFA exchanged ideas with scholars from parts of the world.
Ding Feng delves into world leading theory of sense and perception and film theories. He made his first empirical study on films of Ang Lee in terms of immeasurable parts in a way of indirect measurement with the method of cognitive psychology. The study was in a partnership of complex sensing laboratory of Bowling Green State University, which reflected how BFA leads the world in film research and showed its international partnerships.
The CAPA Conference focuses on multi-ethnic, cross-cultural film exchanges, which coincides with the “going out” strategy. Amid cultural development and film education, to build BFA into a world leading film academy, BFA has to promote quality works in international film festivals and have more voices in terms of literary theories and researches in academic world. In so doing, global influence of Beijing Film Academy will be generally improved.
