On June 23, “2017 China Chengdu • BRICS Film Festival”, themed on “Enjoying the Excitement from Films, Creating Win-win Cooperation”, hosted by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) and the People’s Government of Sichuan Province and organized by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, the Film Bureau of SAPPRFT, the Department of International Cooperation of SAPPRFT and Sichuan Provincial Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, was successfully held. Mr. Hou Guangming - Chairman of Academy Council of BFA and Mr. Yu Jianhong – Vice President of BFA were invited to attend it, in the company of Liu Beibei from the Office of Academic Affairs of International School.
The “BRICS Film Cooperation Forum” held on June 24, as one of the activities of the BRICS Film Festival (BRICS is formed by initials of the following five countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), is an important stage of cultural and educational exchanges. Zhang Hongsen – Deputy Director General of SAPPRFT attended the Forum and gave a speech. Zhang Pimin – Vice President of China Alliance of Radio, Film and Television, Makosu Magdalen Sudu – Vice Minister of Arts of South Africa, Marcos Caramuru de Paiva – the ambassador of Brazil to China, Boris Mashtar – Executive Director of the Russian State Academy of Arts and Sciences and Ashok Pama – the joint secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India gave keynote speeches on film cooperation among BRICS countries.
Film is an important component of cultural and educational exchanges, and all the BRICS countries have many excellent filmmakers. In order to broaden the international perspective of the young film talents of these countries and promote the film education internationalization to seek the innovation in professional talent cultivation model, BFA, serving the overall national strategy, introduced the Program for BRICS Film Students and Talents at this forum, so as to promote the communication among the BRICS countries in the film education field.
