The work I Come From Prairie created by Arisbek Nuhan, a master graduate of Animation School of BFA was supervised by Vice President Sun Lijun and Professor Li Jianping and Han Xiao. It took more than one year to create and produce this film. In the past 66 years, BFA has ever won Student Oscar Award twice: One is Zhong Cai written by Han Gang and Wang Honghai and directed by Han Gang which won the nomination award of the 14th Student Oscar Film Festival in 1987; the other is Child Memory written and directed by Hu Xueyang and guided by Han Xiaolei, which won the silver award of the 17th Oscar College Student Film Festival in 1990.

The director Arisbek Nuhan, born in Altay City, Xinjiang, China, is a Kazak teenager, and grew up in a multi-ethnic environment. So he does not only feel the ancient prairie culture, but also feel the advanced modern urban culture. The inspiration of this film is from the life of the director. This is the first animated short film created by him. At present, the director, as a free creator, continues to explore the fusion way of minority ethnic culture and modern artistic forms.

The short films created by the students of BFA have won films in the international film festival in recent years because of the joint efforts of the instructors and the students, as well as the “Chong’ao Program” of the Party Committee of BFA and the guidance and support in overall work arrangement and fund. And this is another good harvest after the winning of student Oscar award 26 years ago. BFA will make concerted efforts, do well the practical teaching work, further promote the student film creation and continue to work hard to cultivate first-class film talents and building a world-class film college.
